How to change Lubricant in an Air Compressor

Here are the steps to change the lubricant in an Air Compressor:

  1. Turn off the power supply to the air compressor and unplug it from the socket.
  2. Check the manufacturer‘s manual or label on the compressor to determine the type of lubricant it requires, normally is Total #46.
  3. Locate the drain valve at the bottom of the tank and place a drain pan or bucket underneath it to collect the old oil.
  4. Open the drain valve and let the old lubricant drain completely out of the tank. You can also remove the oil filter and replace it if necessary.
  5. Once the old lubricant is drained, close the drain valve and refill the tank with the recommended lubricant to the level indicated by the manufacturer.
  6. Start the machine and let it run for a few minutes to ensure the new lubricant is distributed throughout the system and that there are no leaks.
  7. Check the level of the lubricant after running the compressor for a few minutes and top up if necessary.
  8. Finally, dispose of the used lubricant responsibly and according to local regulations.
