Here are the steps to change the lubricant in an Air Compressor:
- Turn off the power supply to the air compressor and unplug it from the socket.
- Check the manufacturer‘s manual or label on the compressor to determine the type of lubricant it requires, normally is Total #46.
- Locate the drain valve at the bottom of the tank and place a drain pan or bucket underneath it to collect the old oil.
- Open the drain valve and let the old lubricant drain completely out of the tank. You can also remove the oil filter and replace it if necessary.
- Once the old lubricant is drained, close the drain valve and refill the tank with the recommended lubricant to the level indicated by the manufacturer.
- Start the machine and let it run for a few minutes to ensure the new lubricant is distributed throughout the system and that there are no leaks.
- Check the level of the lubricant after running the compressor for a few minutes and top up if necessary.
- Finally, dispose of the used lubricant responsibly and according to local regulations.
